What to Do

An Authorized Wildlife Rehabilitator will assess the situation and work to find appropriate placement and care for the animal.

Signs an Animal May Be in Distress

An animal may need assistance if it:

  • Follows or approaches people (for example, a squirrel jumping onto you)

  • Appears orphaned or is too small to be on its own

  • Is wobbly, unsteady, or disoriented

  • Walks or runs in circles

  • Has visible injuries or is bleeding
